Mardi Gras is just around the corner and as the night draws closer

Yesterday afternoon was the afternoon of all afternoons.

Yesterday afternoon was the afternoon that Jye has been working towards

for a long time.

Yesterday afternoon was fun.

We got to the salon and as standard Jye was as stressed as anything

He was about to showcase three (3) amazing creations of colour to the owners of his salon.

He has been working at Valonz in Paddington for a year and a half 

and already he had ben invited to present his idea of a Creative, Natural, and Head of Foils.

As expected he blew everyone away.

He truely has a way with hair, a way with people,

and most certainly has found his calling.....

( im like a proud mother, i got a little teary yesterday, so so proud )

my friend Phoebe of  stop making sense posted a blog about this guy a few months ago.

i was truely obsessed with the song.

i was out and about this morning and wandered into JB HI FI

to be truthful i was looking for another album and came across his.

on my way home i played it track for track and was memorised

you need to go out and buy it. 

as well as this album i picked up the new Mogwai and PJ Harvey...

didn't even know they were releasing new albums.

" don't be late " he said.

i arrive and am told he will be with me in a bit, his still with another client..

i think....

"oh bloody hell Jye, you told me not to be late...!"

a few moments pass and i'm told to go upstairs

i find Jye standing behind someone with bleach blonde hair and the most amazing 

pink and blue streaks. i'm watching him paint on this colour, stand back and observe it like it's 

open heart surgery, like his life depends on it.

In this moment I am amazed at my darling boy, and his talent.

( in this moment i also forget that i was a little shitty at him )

Next was my turn...

basically the same as i have had previously

but he worked his magic lotions and potions and soft fingers through my hair

and i was left with a beautiful natural darker colour from root to end.

its darker at the top almost like chocolate brown and stretches down to an ash blonde

at the ends.

Friday night is the night the judges come and announce the pro's and con's of his work

PERSONALLY

i cannot see faults in any of the work he has done.

and besides 

what doesn't kill you , only makes you stronger

my beautiful friend Jye works at Valonz, Paddington and is up to doing

his presentations and crazy me opted to be one of his hair models....

no, i have total trust in him ,

after all he did my wonderful hairdo that i sport around today...

We took a trip to Turkey

Lastnight was such a magical night with my beautiful friends

We had decided on doing dinner somewhere but weren't to sure of where...

until Amy mentioned this amazing Turkish place...

we managed to squeeze ourselves a last minute table for four (4)

took our bottles of wine and headed on in.

the food was AMAZING , the company was BETTER..
but to top the amazingness of this night, they dimmed the lights...
and this amazing music started and out came the belly dancers...
they were amazing.
we had a ball watching everyone dancing with them...
and then Jye and Amy decide that they need to call the belly dancer over and get me up on the floor
i was shaking everything ... nothing like her, but hey i gave it a go.

we then moved on after our delicious meals for some after dinner drinks...

made new friends, laughed with the old friends and created memories...

i love celebrating life with my lovers.

there's no place like home...

today was one of those days you want to stand on a hill and scream

really loudly and blurt out some rude words.

HOUSE HUNTING DAY #2

why?why?why?

is it so damn hard to find yourself a little paradise to call your own?

we applied for three (3) properties , the whole process is rather bollocks if you ask me.

you have to fill out a ridiculous personal form and then join a fucking que and wait like a homeless

puppy for the well dressed lady to decide if she likes you or not 

which then she gives you the keys to your new kennel.

i just want a place to call my own, a place that when one walks in they 

think YES this place has you written all over it.

I want to have friends round for dinner, i want to leave my dirty washing in the machine

and my dirty coffee mugs around the house without getting yelled at.

more then anything, i want to have that same feeling my mum has when she is in her home

the feeling of sitting in your chair with a massive smile on your face

and thinking

" i love this place "

Friday Nights

So its Friday night.

And I should be studying.. however my attention span is that of a child...

I did get my books out, and started note jotting... 

but found after some short while my page was filled more with flowers and little pictures

rather then words, or anything of relevance to my course.

So... I've strapped on my Salties and am going to head down to the bottle shop.

Grab a nice wine. Pop to the Video Store and fetch me a flick.

Come home attack my face with a Tea Tree Mask

and just have a selfish me night.

On the way home I can't help but drive in the slow lane

and stare in awe of our beautiful city.

from magical churches to luscious parks surrounded by buildings

driving through the city of Sydney ; you cant help but smile...

house hunting is a lot harder then one would imagine...

Animals Just Blow My Mind...

my dog Sally just makes me laugh..

she is so funny, she does this little snout thing when she gets excited and always sneezes.. 

im laughing thinking about it now....

however.. turns out she would prefer to eat veggies and fruit rather then meat...

we put some left overs in her bowl and rather then heading straight to the meat like Katie would she opted for a crunchy carrot and she gobbled the whole thing down....

a vegetarian dog like her vegetarian owner...
